Application process
Families must complete an intake packet at the time of admission. In order for children to be admitted into the Nursery, the following must apply: Only the parent or legal guardian can voluntarily admit their child(ren). Children must be between the ages of birth through 5. Families need to provide an emergency contact in case of an emergency or child’s illness. Children must be free of illness or contagious condition that could harm staff and children in care.

Provides emergency childcare, crisis nursery services, respite care, and family support for families with children ages birth through 5 years. Offers temporary childcare and shelter during family crises, as well as access to food, diapers, formula, fresh produce, and children's essential items. Services are available to families experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, loss of childcare, family violence, parental stress, illness, or other crisis situations.

Bay Area Crisis Nursery
Provides direct childcare and emergency shelter services and wraparound support. Offers free emergency childcare services for up to 30 days in a 6-month period—60 days per year. A child can attend for the full day or just a couple of hours. Provides emergency shelter for children ages birth through 5 years in which parents can utilize this service for up to 30 days per crisis situation. Offers respite overnight program for parents experiencing stress, or who have used BACN’s services, can visit the Nursery for short-term monthly visits. These visits range from 1-3 days. Also provides food and diaper bank available to all community members in need of food, diapers, and formula. Each Tuesday at 11 am, BACN holds a Fresh Produce Market, offering free produce and more. The BACN Boutique is a fully stocked, free boutique filled with children’s furniture, toys, books, clothes, and more for families participating in a program. Eligible parents may be experiencing a crisis or feel overwhelmed by parenting young children, lost their childcare provider or cannot afford childcare services, dealing with unemployment and underemployment, overwhelming parental stress, homelessness, escaping violence, or are suffering from a mental health disorder or physical illness.
