Child Abuse Prevention Council of Contra Costa County
Provides education and training to professionals and community groups regarding child abuse prevention, treatment and mandating reporting. Offers 22-week Nurturing Parenting, center-based program in English and Spanish for families with children 0-12. Produces and distributes "Surviving Parenthood," a resource directory of information and support services in Contra Costa County. Manages The Baby Bag Project, which distributes tote bags filled with information for new parents to participating birthing facilities and home visiting groups throughout Contra Costa County. Works in collaboration with other community partners and provides parenting education classes through the county. Offers Speak Up, Be Safe, an abuse and bullying prevention program for students in grades 1-8.
