Provides legal and other advocacy assistance to people with disabilities including information and referral to other sources of assistance, peer and self-advocacy services, representation in administrative and judicial proceedings, investigation of abuse and neglect, legislative advocacy; and training. Provides referrals to private practicing lawyers in specific areas of the law, as well as local government, consumer, and public service agencies. Trained legal interviewers screen clients to determine the location and language requirements for the most convenient referral possible. If it is determined that a lawyer's advice is recommended, clients are scheduled for a thirty-minute consultation with the appropriate attorney in the area. If a legal consultation is not necessary, clients are referred to an appropriate organization or agency in the area.

Provides free civil legal advice, counsel and representation to low-income individuals in four areas: Housing, Public Benefits, Family Law for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and Consumer.

Provides free legal and social services to children and youth in four main areas; immigration, guardianships, education discipline cases (expulsions), and dependency. Represents minors only and cannot give legal advise to adults or to people outside of the state of California.

Assists parent with disabilities and professionals, including attorneys involved in family court or dependency/CPS cases. Staff help individuals understand the rights and responsibilities of parents with disabilities in custody cases and helps navigate these systems.
