Community-based mental health service program for young adults (16-26) living in Western to Central Contra Costa County. Serve's Medi-Cal recipients who are experiencing mental health challenges often in addition to homelessness, substance use issues or histories of trauma and abuse. Services include therapy, case management, living skills support, medication management, participant groups and peer mentoring.  CCTAY works in close collaboration with Contra Costa County Behavioral Health Services.  

Supports families of individuals with mental illnesses, educates families and the public about mental illness, advocates for improved treatment and treatment facilities, fight stigma and discrimination, supports legislation that helps those with neurobiological brain disorders, improves private and public sector policies, increases outreach to people with mental illnesses and their families. Refers clients to local support groups provided through other organizations or local churches.

Provides a therapist referral service of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual therapists both online and by phone, offers seminars, consultations, and speakers by members on such LBGTQ-related topics as homophobia, coming out, gay marriage, HIV/AIDS, alternative families, parenting, gender identity, S/M/B/D, as well as how anxiety and depression affect our community.

Provides legal and other advocacy assistance to people with disabilities including information and referral to other sources of assistance, peer and self-advocacy services, representation in administrative and judicial proceedings, investigation of abuse and neglect, legislative advocacy; and training. Information can be selected by language, gender, specialty, insurance plan, therapy type. The therapists description may or may not include information on sliding scale fee for service; individual should call the therapist for this information.

Provides integrated behavioral support services for students in K-12 in the Pittsburg Unified School District and in 3 schools in Antioch Unified School District (Antioch Middle, Dallas Ranch Middle and Park Middle School). Develops tools and learning environments for academic success across all levels from teacher consultation, student counseling and whole school support. Provides comprehensive support including, in-class/playground support (elementary level), individual, group and family therapy, teacher consultation, crisis intervention and community outings.

Offers Child Care Solutions program designed for children who display the following behaviors in their school setting: anger, aggression, unhappiness, distant, unable to play with peers, overly shy, recovering from a traumatic event, excessive worry, accident prone, hyperactivity or delayed in development. Services can include observation and assessment, staff consultation, brief parent counseling in the home, community or office, support for teachers and school directors, in-service training for staff and community referrals.

Provides general information on developmental disabilities, systemic advocacy for people with mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy, and conditions similar to mental retardation. Also conducts Quality Assessments for clients of the East Bay Regional Center, supports People First organizations and provides public education and information. Assists local councils on developmental disabilities in planning, coordinating, monitoring, advocacy, and evaluating services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to enhance independence, productivity and inclusion.

Offers a wraparound program through MHSA, serving adults aged 25+, with serious mental illness who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. The program provides high level case management through the recovery model including support services such as housing, vocational rehabilitation, and counseling.

Provides bilingual services that support mental health, developmental disabilities, substance use recovery, housing, employment, and reentry programs. Additionally they assist individuals and families with counseling, job training, peer support, and community engagement.

Offers one-to-one behavioral intervention mental health program. Works in collaboration with children, youth, parents, caregivers, foster parents, group home staff and school personnel to reduce and manage challenging behaviors, as well as strategies and skills to help child and youth in their current environment. Clinical High Risk (CHR) program works with young people at risk for or experiencing very early symptoms of psychosis, prior to a first psychotic episode. First Episode Psychosis (FEP) program works with those who have had a first psychotic episode within the past year. Services are designed to support recovery and functioning and to prevent the occurrence of an initial or subsequent episode of psychosis.
