If an individual is interested in a specific complex they should call the phone number on the list and ask to speak to the on-site manager who knows the availability of units, rent prices, income limits, etc. The County does not choose tenants for each unit. Housing, DV Restraining Order and Consumer clinics are all suspended; contact hotlines for assistance. Provides free civil legal advice, counsel and representation to low-income individuals in four areas: Housing, Public Benefits, Family Law for survivors of domestic violence and Consumer. Housing issues include: public, subsidized (including Section 8 and other HUD subsidized projects) and private housing, fair housing and housing discrimination, housing conditions, rent control, eviction defense, lock-outs and utility shutoffs, residential hotels. Family law for survivors of domestic violence issues include temporary Restraining Orders (TROs), divorce, legal separation or annulments, child or spousal support, custody and visitation orders, battered spouse waivers, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) enforcement, immigration issues faced by domestic violence survivors. Public benefits issues include CalWORKs, SSDI (Social Security Disability Benefits), SSI, Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants, Food Stamps, GA, and other county-specific programs. Bay Area Legal Aid does not handle criminal matters.

Provides direct childcare and emergency shelter services and wraparound support. Crisis Day Services offers emergency childcare services for up to 30 days in a 6-month period—60 days per year. A child can attend for the full day or just a couple of hours. Provides crisis residential overnight program in which parents can utilize this service for up to 30 days per crisis situation. Offers respite overnight program for parents experiencing stress, or who have used BACN’s services, can visit the Nursery for short-term monthly visits. These visits range from 1-3 days. Also provides food and diaper bank available to all community members in need of food, diapers, and formula. The BACN Boutique is a fully stocked, free boutique filled with children’s furniture, toys, books, clothes, and more for families participating in a program. Eligible parents may be experiencing a crisis or feel overwhelmed by parenting young children, lost their childcare provider or cannot afford childcare services, dealing with unemployment and underemployment, overwhelming parental stress, homelessness, escaping violence, or are suffering from a mental health disorder or physical illness.

Provides routine and preventive health care services including, family practice, adult medicine, pediatrics, immunizations, prenatal care, women's health, laboratory by appointment, patient education, group classes and minor procedures. Care coordinators relay messages to doctors and assist patients with specialty referrals. Patients can reach their doctor's care coordinator by dialing backdoor number or care coordinator direct line.

Oversees Contra Costa County's 259 schools in 18 school districts including special education services for special needs students, alternative education programs, adult education classes and career development & ROP programs to prepare high school students and adults for careers.
