Hosting a one day event on August 31st 2026 where families with children aged 0-6 can receive a free backpack, developmental milestone guidance and a few items of school supplies.

Provides 15-20 pounds of fresh produce two times per month to qualifying households that are in need of food assistance. Produce is distributed from the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Mobile Trucks.

Distributes food to over 180 charitable agencies throughout Contra Costa and Solano counties, including soup kitchens and emergency food pantries, which provide free food to county residents in crisis situations, and to agencies such as low-income child care centers and schools for the disabled that prepare meals for a particular group of disadvantaged individuals. Coordinates monthly distribution of free government surplus commodities (Food Assistance Program), Senior Food Program which provides supplemental food items twice a month to low-income seniors, age 55 and over. Care Parent Network helps families meet the challenges of parenting a child with special needs. Care Parent Network offers one-to-one support, information, virtual workshops, referrals, mentors parents, and support group meetings. Provides information about transitioning a child with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the public-school system into programs for adults. Offers two father support groups available in English and in Spanish as well as an African American support group. All services are in English and Spanish. Distributes Eyes of Hope gift certificates to low-income children through VSP's network of community partners. Parents and guardians interested in seeking assistance through the Eyes of Hope program must work through the VSP Provider. VSP does not issue gift certificates directly to the public.
