Provides free, confidential, one-on-one basic instruction in reading, writing, and spelling to adults who can converse in English. Instruction is provided by trained volunteers. Adult learner/tutor pairs meet twice a week, for an hour and a half each time at libraries or other public locations throughout Contra Costa County. Trains volunteer tutors three times per year. Offers a variety of exercise/fitness classes for children, teens and adults. Classes include, yoga, wellness, gentle movement, and cardio. Classes may fill up fast or may be cancelled depending on registration.

Services include crisis counseling, safety planning, resource navigation and referral services, economic empowerment classes to develop leadership and professional skills, and support groups. Partners with Family Justice Center to provide virtual workshops. All services are provided within a culturally and linguistically appropriate framework (primarily South Asian languages)

Provides advocacy and legal representation on disability claims for Social Security disability benefits claims that have been denied.

Provides administration over all Concord city parks and recreational activities, aquatic facilities, dog park, and community centers. Offers a variety of classes available for children, teens and adults including art classes, dance, exercise classes, martial arts, sports, music lessons, summer camps and trips. Provides aquatic programs for all ages. Offers year round lap and exercise swimming for adults 18 and over. Accepts donations as scholarship money for low income children's swim lessons.

Provides a general acute care hospital and associated services. Serves as the only trauma center for Contra Costa County and portions of Solano County. Other specialties include high and low-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, rehabilitation, neurosciences, cardiac, emergency, neonatal intensive care unit, trauma and cancer care.

Provides needs based services which may include; food, utility and financial assistance, and vouchers for clothing that can be used in lieu of cash at St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores for discounted clothing and furniture.

Provides free clothing of all sizes, winter coats and blankets to low income/homeless. Clients may receive clothing assistance 4 times a year.

Offers mental health brief therapy (16 sessions) to support clients who have experienced a traumatic event or who have had a loved one who experienced a traumatic event, including, but not limited to, domestic violence, community violence, and sexual assault.

Provides hotline runaway and homeless youth offering shelter options, mediation, information and referral, and phone or in-person counseling. Provides free, immediate help to youth ages 0-17, including immediate housing in a foster home, crisis counseling, family mediation, transportation and referrals. Center is a Safe Place site. If a longer stay is needed, the youth would likely be placed in a foster home for shelter. SAFE Place is not a long-term shelter.

Provides psychological treatments to individuals, children and adolescents, parents and caregivers, couples as well as counseling in a group setting. Offers a wide range of assessments including, attention/concentration problems, child/adolescent behavioral, emotional and school problems, cognitive and neuropsychological assessment, learning disabilities and personality assessments.

Provides virtual support services for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning communities including an on-site mental health clinic providing individual, couple, family counseling, and group therapy, a wide variety of peer groups, a youth peer group and drop-in center, HIV counseling and support and a large resource center.

Issues include, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, anxiety, relationship conflict, developmental concerns, prescription management, family communication and parenting issues. We offer two programs: Contra Costa Outpatient Pittsburg and Community Support Program (CSP). Outpatient offers services for mild and moderate psychiatric disabilities including weekly individual and group psychotherapy. CSP offers intensive services for severe psychiatric disabilities including case management, medication management, 24/7 hour crisis line, individual/group/family psychotherapy, housing/education/vocational support, peer support, and dual diagnosis treatment.

Offers developmental assessments for infants and toddlers with suspected developmental delay or disability. Assessment of those over the age of 3 suspected of having a developmental disability as part of determination of eligibility for services.

Provides free legal and social services to children and youth in four main areas; immigration, guardianships, education discipline cases (expulsions), and dependency. Represents minors only and cannot give legal advise to adults or to people outside of the state of California.

Provides 15 to 20 pounds of fresh produce two times per month to qualifying households that are in need of food assistance. Produce is distributed from the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Mobile Trucks.

Provides in-school violence prevention programming and develops peer leadership at all grade levels, through classroom-based services delivered over multiple sessions, and also in ongoing, gender-specific small groups. Age-appropriate topics range from bullying prevention and safe touching, to bystander education, to dating violence, sexual assault and sexual exploitation. Offers self-defense training for women and girls. The Prevention team also works with college campuses to prevent sexual violence, and is available for community training on these topics.

Provides a food pantry.

Provides shelter and substance abuse recovery services for women. Services include legal and court assistance, parenting/pregnancy education/support, HIV/AIDS testing and education, job training and support, bible studies, and AA and NA meetings on site. Pregnant women can stay up to a year after the birth of their child.

Provides telephone crisis counseling, grief counseling, suicide prevention services, including response to 800-273-TALK and 800-SUICIDE. Provides information and referral to community programs. Answers all after-hours calls to Contra Costa County Child Protective Services and Contra Costa County Adult Protective Services. Provides individual and group grief support and counseling to adults and children mourning the death of a loved one. Clients can call or text "HOPE" to 20121 to reach a crisis counselor 24 hours daily.

Offers virtual and in-person parenting classes and workshops and online activities for families such as art, music and more. Clients can meet with a community resource specialist and socialize with other parents. Center offers Kinder Readiness classes, ages and stages questionnaire and virtual HMG playgroup.
