Provides administration over all city parks and recreational activities, aquatic facilities and community centers. All parks are open from sunrise to sunset. Park restrictions are listed online including special reservations.

Offers one-stop center for people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, child abuse and human trafficking. Center helps people in crisis to find hope, safety and healing by being a one-stop center where many service providers are readily available.

Provides outpatient methadone and buprenorphine detoxification, outpatient methadone and buprenorphine maintenance, individual and group counseling and addiction services for adult opiate addicted population age 18+, pregnant women and HIV with opiate addiction. Also provides self-help groups such as Methadone Anonymous; must be a client of BAART for additional counseling and groups.

Provides emergency adult shelter for single adults. Provides the basic needs of shelter, shower, food, and clothing. Service includes case management services assisting residents with linkage to appropriate support programs and organizations including, housing support, social and human resource services, employment search and placement, legal services, counseling and health needs. Some rooms are made available for couples or individuals with special needs. Center has 15 spots available to serve as a warming center (overnight stay) for vulnerable populations.

Offers summer sports camp, virtual preschool programming, and a variety of classes for children, teens, and adutls including cooking, dance, exercise, martial arts, yoga, tai chi and sports.

Provides dependable breastfeeding information and support to Contra Costa County women including answers to breastfeeding questions, follow-up support (warmline consultants will continue support of a breastfeeding mother to help her resolve breastfeeding problems), referrals to WIC Breastfeeding Counselors (for WIC participants only), referrals to in-person lactation support, and referrals to other services as appropriate. Staffed by volunteers who are experts on breastfeeding and related issues, all calls made to the warmline are responded to within 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Provides various legal services via remote advocacy. Housing, DV Restraining Order and Consumer clinics are available via remote clinics. Provides free civil legal advice, counsel and representation to low-income individuals in four areas: Housing, Public Benefits, Family Law for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and Consumer.

Provides in-school violence prevention programming and develops peer leadership at all grade levels, through classroom-based services delivered over multiple sessions, and also in ongoing, gender-specific small groups. Age-appropriate topics range from bullying prevention and safe touching, to bystander education, to dating violence, sexual assault and sexual exploitation. Offers self-defense training for women and girls. The Prevention team also works with college campuses to prevent sexual violence, and is available for community training on these topics.

Offers free pregnancy testing and counseling to women on all reproductive health options including STI screenings for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea and limited ultrasounds. All services are free and confidential.

Provides a general acute care hospital and associated services. Serves as the only trauma center for Contra Costa County and portions of Solano County. Other specialties include high and low-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, rehabilitation, neurosciences, cardiac, emergency, neonatal intensive care unit, trauma and cancer care.

Offers Family-to-Family program which provides mentoring and support to families who are in need of self-sufficiency support through parish based groups. Pairs parished based groups with families working towards self-sufficiency, sustainability and away from the repetitious cycle of poverty.

Provides translation assistance services to help victims of crime communicate in their native language with law enforcement, doctors, lawyers, court and other service providers. Considered crimes: theft, burglary, assault, domestic violence. Others call for information.

Provides counseling and police escorts to sexually abused victims through: 24-hour crisis line counseling, in person support, including accompaniment to hospitals, police interviews, and legal proceedings.

Provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging preschool environment where children can grow and thrive. Program supports early childhood development through age-appropriate learning experiences, creative play, and caring guidance. Preschool also focuses on developing essential skills in early literacy & language, math/problem solving, social and emotional growth, self expression, and physical coordination/motor skills.

Provides early childhood education for Bay Area children ages 3-6, elementary, middle school, and high school education, as well as a career center, transition services, and resource center for Deaf for individuals from San Louis Obispo to the Oregon border. Students from nearby communities attend on a day school basis; a residential program (age 5+) is available for those at a further distance. Referral needed from student's local school district. Offers sign language classes for parents and parent workshops.

Provides domestic violence helpline for domestic violence survivors, including South Asian women. Services include crisis counseling, safety planning, resource navigation and referral services, economic empowerment classes to develop leadership and professional skills, and support groups. Partners with Family Justice Center to provide virtual workshops.

Works to improve and expand services to people with developmental disabilities and their families. Major Council activities include: identifying unmet needs and gaps in services, and working to develop services to meet these needs, providing opportunities for coordination of efforts and services, providing information about community resources and making referrals to appropriate agencies, identifying priorities, offering consultation, technical assistance, and training to agencies, professionals, parents, and the general public, liaison with legislative and governmental entities, publishing bulletins, newsletters, informational & education materials; and serving as an advocate for persons with developmental disabilities and their families.
